Benchmark Site Personnel Training (4 hours)
 
Course Objectives:
This course has been designed to familiarize the end user with the theory, operation and terminology surrounding AERCO direct-fired Benchmark Thousand Series boilers. The course covers component overview and troubleshooting, maintenance, control systems, and combustion calibration.  The course also covered installation requirements for venting, piping and electrical code compliance.  The class includes classroom training and hands-on.
 
Expected Outcome:
We expect an attendee to come out of the presentation with a greater understanding of the following:

  • Theory of operation
  • Simple troubleshooting
  • Required maintenance
  • Control system
  • Combustion calibration
  • Installation and code requirements for venting, piping, and electrical
Combustion Optimization, Burner Retrofits (2 hours)
 
Course Objectives:
The objective of this course is to understand the factors and components involved with modifying or replacing a convention burner serving a boiler.  
 
Expected Outcome:
We expect an attendee to come out of the presentation with a greater understanding of the following:

  • The improvements available in combustion technology
  • The basic components of burners and linkageless combustion.
  • The resources to gain more information on steam system efficient design and maintenance.
  • The cost and options available to upgrade a burner and therefore the economies of making changes.
  • The maintenance required with modern linkageless technology
Condensing Boiler Efficiency (2 hours)
 
Course Objectives:
The objective of this course is to understand the operation of modern condensing boilers.   The course focuses on concepts applicable to all commercial condensing boilers will explore how to achieve ideal operating conditions for condensing boilers in four objectives:

  • Maximum efficiency
  • Precise combustion
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Consistent performance
Expected Outcome:
We expect an attendee to come out of the presentation with a greater understanding of the following:

  • The physics and chemistry of combustion
  • The testing standards for efficiency and how they are applied.
  • Piping practices and strategies which lead to colder temperature returns.
  • Maintenance strategies for improved performance and longevity
