Taco University Spring 2014 Semester Begins

Three sessions, each presented twice, are planned for the spring semester. All sessions are held at the Taco's state-of-the-art Innovation & Development Center at Taco headquarters in Cranston, RI. Each session also includes a Taco factory tour.


Participants in each session can earn up to four professional development hours (PDH's) in these full-day seminars.


Session I: Pumps & Related Equipment Fundamentals


This session is designed for hydronics professionals who want to sharpen their fundamental skills on key hydronic system components. It will provide participants with a thorough grounding in the fundamentals of pumps and related hydronic equipment, as well as an introduction to the latest pumping technology.

Session II:  Fundamentals of LoadMatch®, LOFlo®, iWorX® and HSS®


Participants will be introduced to Taco's free HSS hydronic design software and use it to design a basic hydronic system that incorporates the Taco LoadMatch advanced green hydronic system. Using the system they design, students will explore several primary/secondary/tertiary system design concepts utilizing the LOFlo radiant hydronic heating and cooling system. In the final segment, the class will be guided through the process of designing an iWorX control system for both a LoadMatch hydronic system and a LOFlo hydronic system.

Session III:  Fundamentals of Hydronic, Air and Geothermal Systems


Participants will learn the fundamental elements of hydronic, air and geothermal HVAC system design. Students will become familiar with most of the systems they will encounter in the field and learn how to turn design and engineering theory into real-world, effective HVAC systems.
